Position: Plant Manager


BASIC PURPOSE

  • To lead and direct plant operations in the manufacture and shipment of quality products per customer needs and community concerns in a safe environmentally sound in a timely and cost effective manner. Support and develop business strategy for Division and Plant, carry out management responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. The responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving plant problems.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Provide leadership with clear, consistent mission and direction in alignment with business strategy and priorities
  • Establish and communicate clearly defined objective
  • Identify, measure, track and ensure achievement of critical success factors
  • Lead and drive cultural change and continuous improvemnent
  • Coordinate production, maintenance, distribution, warehousing, and cost improvement initiatives in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees
  • Oversee production costs and product quality, and modifies produciton and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
  • Ensure comprehensive, effective development plans are completed and implemented for key individuals; Utilize management review process to identify succession depth
  • Ensure personal development plans are in place for key employees and monitor achievement
  • Foster an environment and culture based on employee involvement to maximize contribution and support continuous improvement while maintaining an effective work environment with fair and consistent treatment for all employees
  • Ensure that standard guidelines and objectives are used for assigning responsibility with employees held accountable for their performance
  • Maximize utilization of plant personnel thus enhancing overall plant performance
  • Lead processes to improve costs, including employee involvement an innovation
  • Ensure key cost drivers are identified, tracked and implemented
  • Ensure cost information is understood, communicated and routinely reviewed
  • Manage inventories cost effectively while maintaining production capability and reliability
  • Utilize effective facility plan, including environmental planning, capital projects and spending and resource identification
  • Maintain an effective predictive/preventive maintenance system
  • Pursue site and technoligical enhancement/expansions to support business strategies
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs and implement performance measurements responsive such needs
  • Communicate continuous improvments in key measurements including on time delivery, product quality and process capability
  • Stay abreast of customer concerns and customer satisfaciton (internal and external)
  • Facilitate customer trials, technical service, commercial development and customer interaction as needed to support marketing initiatives
  • Stay abreast of competitors costs, quality and service capabilities
  • Encourage identificaiton and prevention of non-conformance to quality specificaitons
  • Approve quality policy and manual and any changes, revisions or modifictions to ensure products and services meet standards, customer requirements and regulations.
  • Produce high quality MCC products which meet sales and marketing requirements in a timely, reliable and efficient manner
  • Maintain plant operating reliability to permit flexibility in meeting market demands and the capability to achieve plant capacity on a sustained basis
  • Ensure core manufacturing basics are in place, kept in the forefront and in focus
  • Ensure that MRA’s/Objectives are in place
  • Interact with process technology and sister plants to share successes, optimize operations and support technology development to ensure production levels meet and satisfy customer demands within corporate quality standards

1.1 Leadership and Management

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with local community, civic groups, other businesses and manufacturing operations within the industrial community , and political and legislative representatives
